What If… It All Works Out?

I bet one of the most replayed questions in almost everyone’s mind is: What if?

We’ve all had our fair share of those haunting thoughts — What if I had done that? What if I had taken that route? What if I had made a different decision? These reflections often tie us to the past, to moments we can’t change but still revisit in our minds.

Then comes the next wave — the what ifs about the future. What if this goes wrong? What if I don’t get the job? What if I don’t get the promotion? What if something happens to my family? Notice the pattern? The phrase what if is so often paired with fear, doubt, and worst-case scenarios. It's a question that tends to highlight our insecurities — either about what we lacked in the past or what might go wrong in the future.

I catch myself in this mental loop too. But recently, I’ve been wondering — why is it so difficult for our minds to flip the narrative? What if it actually works out? What if I do get that job? What if the promotion is right around the corner? What if everything is falling into place, even if I can’t see it yet?

If we’re going to spend time asking ourselves endless questions, why not let them fuel hope instead of fear? I get it — it’s tough, especially when life isn’t going as we’d hoped or planned. But still… What if? What if today’s worries won’t matter in the grand scheme of things? What if all the delays, detours, and doubts are just part of a bigger picture — guiding us to exactly where we’re meant to be?

So here’s a thought: next time your mind spirals into uncertainty, try asking a different kind of what if. One rooted in possibility, not panic.

What if it all works out?

Good luck and see you next time 😊
